Ages: 6 weeks - 18 months
Our Infant Program provides a warm, nurturing environment designed specifically for babies from 6 weeks to 18 months. Based on Montessori principles and attachment theory, we recognize that the first year of life is critical for brain development, emotional security, and the formation of trusting relationships.
In our infant community, each baby is respected as a unique individual with their own temperament, needs, and developmental timeline. Our certified Montessori infant teachers are trained to read babies' cues, respond sensitively to their needs, and provide appropriate challenges that support their natural development.
We maintain a 4:1 infant-to-teacher ratio, ensuring that each baby receives individualized attention, responsive care, and the consistency needed to develop secure attachments. This low ratio allows our teachers to truly know each infant - their preferences, routines, and emerging abilities.
Our infant environment is calm, beautiful, and carefully prepared to support babies' natural development. Unlike traditional daycare settings with cribs and playpens, our Montessori infant room features floor beds, mirrors at floor level, mobiles designed to support visual development, and age-appropriate materials within reach.
Babies have freedom of movement within a safe, prepared space. As they develop, they can roll, crawl, pull up, and eventually walk, following their own internal developmental timeline without artificial constraints. This freedom, combined with a rich sensory environment, supports optimal physical and cognitive development.
While we follow each baby's individual rhythm for feeding and sleeping, our day includes predictable routines that help infants feel secure.
Warm greetings as babies arrive. Individual feeding and diaper changes as needed. Gentle interactions and tummy time for younger infants. Mobile observation and sensory exploration.
Free movement time on soft floor mats. Interaction with age-appropriate materials - soft balls, texture boards, grasping toys. Individual lessons based on each baby's interests and developmental stage.
Individual feeding times (breast milk, formula, or solid foods based on age and family preferences). Quiet music and gentle rocking for those ready to nap. Floor beds available for peaceful rest in a darkened space.
Weather permitting, outdoor time in our infant garden with shade structures. Sensory activities - water play, natural materials, tactile exploration. Individual attention and language-rich interactions.
Continued exploration with Montessori materials. Music and movement activities. Art experiences (safe, non-toxic materials). Stories and songs in intimate small groups or one-on-one.
Quieter activities as the day winds down. Individual feeding and diaper changes. Detailed communication with families about their baby's day. Warm farewells and information sharing.
